Money Diaries: Day 8

9:00 AM: Carpool into the city. $1

9:30 AM: Venmo my boyfriend for household goods we ran out of–toothpaste, trash bags, castille soap. Does anyone else ALWAYS run out of home goods at the same time like we do?! I don’t have a separate budget for this, so it’s always a blow to my Shopping budget. $18.75

10:00 AM: No milk at work. Load up on blueberries and instant oatmeal for breakfast. $0

1:00 PM: I’m trying not to spend money on lunch until I go to NY this Wednesday. I’m expecting an increase in spending during my trip because I’ll be seeing tons of friends and working from coffee shops, so preemptively offsetting this spending has been on my mind. Finished up my bowl of ramen for lunch and stuffed my face with free cake from a baby shower at work. It was glorious. $0

6:00 PM: Commute home via the Transbay Bus. $4.20

8:00 PM: Too lazy to cook. We end up opening the jar of pickled carrots and daikon I made 2 weekends ago, and I make a giant 64 oz “green” smoothie (low fat vanilla yogurt, frozen pineapple, frozen mango, frozen strawberries, and about 2 handfuls of spinach). $0

Commute: $5.20
Shopping: $18.75

Total: $23.95
